Patrick Madison co-founded Golden Software in March, 1983 with partner Dan Smith. Patrick and Dan launched Golden Software with a computer generated mapping program they created called PlotCall which offered a dramatic improvement on the level of resolution available in a computer-generated map. This program was revolutionary at the time as personal computers were new and their applications were limited. With the success of PlotCall, Patrick left his position as a Colorado School of Mines computer science instructor to join Dan in creating additional scientific mapping programs and growing their new software business. As co-founder, Patrick was responsible for company management, finances, and product development.
When not at work, Patrick is involved with the Rotary Club of Golden and is the President of the San Francisco Row Homeowners Association. Further, Patrick serves on the Board of Directors of the Golden Civic Foundation and the Board of Directors of a local theater group called Miner’s Alley Playhouse. In his free time, Patrick enjoys hiking, backpacking, cross-country and downhill skiing sculpting, running, yoga, mountain climbing, international travel. Patrick holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Montana and resides in Golden with his family.
