Yes, MapViewer writes a number of keys in the following two locations in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Golden Software\MapViewer\6
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Golden Software\MapViewer\6
You must have full read/write/edit ability to both the registry and the directory where you are installing MapViewer to install or run the program.
