To import multiple LAS files and print just the headers, I suggest you import all LAS files into the data tables and import all the Well Info data into the same data table. Then create a header in the borehole view consisting of text objects describing the header items and linked text objects showing the values of those items. When you are done, you can simply go to File | Print Multiple Logs and Strater will automatically print the header information according to all the imported log data.
I created an example file (see zip file attached). You can use this as a template if you wish. Start importing your log data into the data tables and the well info into the Well Info table. You can change the ID Filter in the Borehole View to see the header update with your information.
To do this:
- Open attached SDG file in Strater.
- Click on the Well Info data table.
- Go to File | Load Data
- Select your first LAS file and click Open
- In the LAS Import Options, check the check box next to "Import Well Data" and then select the "Well Info" table from the drop down menu. Click Load.
- Repeat steps 3-5 for all your LAS files.
- If you want, you can delete the two rows from the Well Info data table that were there to begin with.
- Look at the Well Info data table and note the fields that get filled in. Activate the borehole view, and in the Property Manager select a Hole ID from the ID Filter drop down menu, and then delete or add fields to the header area as appropriate. I took advantage of the Arrange | Align Objects commands (or tools on the toolbar) to make sure all the text is spaced correctly.
- Once the header looks appropriate for your LAS files, go to File | Print Multiple Logs.
- Select the first of the logs from the list, hold the SHIFT key down, and click on the last of the logs in the list. This will highlight all of your logs.
- Click OK and the Print dialog box will appear. Make any changes you like and click OK. Strater will automatically print all the logs you selected using the borehole view as a template.
