Q. I have a problem with making contour maps that contain faults. I get a contour map with a blanked area around my fault line and the contour lines do not end at the fault, but a bit next to it. How can I solve the problem that the area around the fault is not shown as a blanked area? The fault should just be displayed as a line or curved line, at that the contour lines end.
A. Surfer blanks the grid cell when a fault BLN line crosses the cell. To work around the problem, grid the data with smaller grid cells so that a smaller area is blanked.
