How do I display well locations on a map?

To display well locations on a map, add them as a post map. You will need a data file with at least the XY coordinates of each well.
  1. Create your map that you want to add the well locations to.
  2. Go to Map | Add | Post Map.
  3. Select the data file with the well locations and click Open. The post layer is added to the map.
  4. Select Post in the Surfer and Grapher, the Object Manager contains a hierarchical list of the objects in a plot document displayed in a tree view. The objects can be selected, arranged, and edited in the Object Manager or through the plot document menu commands.

    In MapViewer, the Object Manager shows a list of the objects in the active layer.'); return false">Object Manager         and in the Property Manager edit any of the post layer properties (including selecting different XY columns, adding labels, changing the symbol shape, etc).
