To add a North arrow in MapViewer, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new point object using the Draw | Point command.
  2. Click on the screen where you want the north arrow to be displayed.
  3. After the point is drawn, click once on the the point to select it.
  4. In the Property Inspector, open the Symbol Properties section.
  5. Click on the Symbol Set command where the current font name is displayed.  Change the Symbol Set to GSI Default Symbols or GSI North Arrows.
  6. Click on the Symbol property where the current symbol is displayed.  In the drop down box, select a new symbol to be used for the north arrow.
  7. Change the Size to make your north arrow larger to fit your needs.
  8. You can rotate the North Arrow using (Arrange | Rotate) to make sure it lines up correctly with the North orientation.

The changes are made automatically on the map.
