The jagged appearance is caused by the resolution of the grid file. When the blanking line goes through a grid cell, the entire cell is blanked. The larger the grid cells, the more jagged it will look. The smaller the grid cells, the more smooth it will look.
To reduce the jagged appearance of the blanked edge of a GRD file, you can reduce the size of the grid cells by either:
1. Regridding the data with more grid lines and then use the higher resolution grid file for blanking. The default is 100 grid lines in the longest direction. Increase the number of grid lines by a factor of 2, 5, or 10 for increasingly higher resolutions and smoother blanked edges.
2. Smoothing the grid file using Grid / Spline Smooth to insert more nodes in the grid file prior to blanking.
