| I get an error "installation ended prematurely" when installing Grapher 7. How can I do a silent install? | |||||||||
Q: I get an error message Installation ended prematurely because of an error when trying to install Grapher. The program will not install. How can I get around this? 1. Click Start | Run and then click the Browse button when the Run dialog appears.
2. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Wise Installation Wizard folder and select All Files in the Files of type: dropdown. 3. Double-click on the appropriate MSI file name. (This will return to the Run dialog.) Grapher 7's MSI file is named: WIS674AF63E13CA4C78ADD1FE4008868A80_7_0_1870_0.MSI 4. Click In the Run dialog edit box and move the cursor to just after the closing double-quote character. Now hit the space bar, followed by: /qn /L* G7Silent.log 5. Now click the Run dialogs OK button to launch the silent installation. 6. Wait several minutes for the installation to finish. There will be no visible indication it's done, but you should be able to check the Start | All Progams list and see the appropriate Golden Software... Grapher 7 program group. 7. If you want a desktop shortcut, one will have to be created manually. |
