To change the Surfer grid file blanking value to 0 or another value?
  • Select the Grid | Filter menu command.
  • In the Open Grid dialog, specify the [.GRD] file and click Open.
  • In the Digital Filtering dialog, open the Linear Convolution Filters | User Defined Filters | General User-defined (mxn) options.
  • In the Edge Effects field, set the Blanked Nodes to Fill, and set the Value to 0.  Click OK.

Note:  By default, Surfer assigns a special blanking code (1.70141+e38) to grid nodes that are blanked.  Blanked regions of a grid file do not display contour lines on a contour map.
