Q: Gridding a data set with numerous duplicate data points using the Modified Shepard's method causes the grid to extrapolate unrealistic Z values (-268,420 to 227,897) compared to the Z range in the data file (3400 to 6600).

A:
In the Grid Data dialog, click the Filter Data button. Change the To Keep value in the Duplicate Data section to anything other than "All" and click OK. Set the other gridding options you wish and click OK to create the grid.
