To create a surface from an XYZ data file, follow these steps:
1. Create a column of 0's in the data file. 2. Open Voxler and go to File | Load Data. 3. Select the data file and click Open. 4. In the Data Import Options dialog box, set the appropriate settings for your data and click OK. 5. In the Select Data Columns dialog box, choose the X Coordinate and Y Coordinate columns, select the column of 0's as the Z Coordinate, and select the Z data column as the Single Component. Click OK. 6. Right click over the data module in the Network window and choose Computational | Gridder to create a Gridder module. 7. Select the Gridder module. In the Properties window, set any settings you wish and click Begin Gridding. 8. Once the gridding is complete, right click over the Gridder module and choose Graphics Output | HeightField.
Alternatively, if you own Surfer you can grid the XYZ data in Surfer (Grid | Data), load the GRD file into Voxler (File | Load Data), and attach a HeightField module directly to the GRD file.
