Q: I'm trying to use the script bil2grd3 with Surfer 8 but the script produces this error:
(H80020009) Unable to read C:\filepath\filenameTmp.grd
And in Scripter the following information is highlighted:
surf.GridTransform(ingrid:=grdtmp, _
operation:=srfGridTransMirrorY, _
outgrid:=grdFile)
A: This problem seems to occur when the number format specified under Control Panel | Regional and Language Options is not English. The problem appears to revolve around non-English formats using comma (,) as a decimal symbol and a period (.) as the digit grouping symbol. As long as the numbers on the computer are formatted in English, the script should work.
Some international customers simply change the language format on their computers to English, run the script, and then change the language format back. Surfer 9 and higher can read BIL files directly in place of grids. No conversion is necessary.
