The only way to exit Reshape mode is to press Esc or Enter on the keyboard, or click on another toolbar icon. If you just left click, you do not exit the Reshape mode (note your cursor still stays as the solid black pointer).
Starting with Surfer 9, you can reshape multiple items without having to go back to the Reshape command. You can select an item, reshape it, select another item, reshape that item, etc. You can keep reshaping multiple items until you exit the Reshape mode. Surfer 8 and previous versions only allowed you to reshape one item and then you had to initiate the command again to reshape another item.
