To copy or move individual elements in a base map in Surfer 9, you need to enter the base map group. To do this, select the base map and go to Arrange | Enter Group. Now you are "in the base map group". You can copy and paste objects in a base map, use the drawing tools to add new objects to the base map, select multiple items within the base map, and move individual objects inside the base map. When you are done with your edits, go to Arrange | Exit Group to exit the group.
For example:
1. Select the base map and go to Arrange | Enter Group. This allows you to do perform more editing functions inside the base map group. 2. Select multiple objects, right click and go to Properties. 3. Make your edits and click OK. 4. To exit the group, go to Arrange | Exit Group.
