Surfer 9 and 10 offer the ability to click and drag post and classed post map labels to new locations to prevent overlap. To move post map labels, follow these steps:

1.     Create a post or classed post map.

2.     Select the map and go to Map | Edit Post Labels (or right click over the map and go to Edit Post Labels).

3.     Click and drag the desired post map labels to their new positions.

4.     When you are finished editing the post map label locations, press Esc on the keyboard.

You can change the properties of the post map labels and leader lines by selecting the post map and in the Property Manager going to the Labels page.

You can reset the labels to the default positions by selecting the map, and in the Property Manager going to the Labels tab, and changing the Position Relative to Symbol to any other position.
