With every change in the graph or plot, Grapher checks the worksheet to see if the data has changed. With large files, this can slow the redraw of the graph down. There are some things you can do to help this:
First, turn off Auto Track Worksheets. In Grapher 8 and previous versions, this was the View | Auto Track Worksheets command. In Grapher 9, click the Tools | Options command. On the left side of the dialog, click on Plots. On the right side, uncheck Auto track worksheets. When this option is unchecked, the worksheet is only re-read when you select the Graph | Reload Worksheets command.
Second, you can turn off the Auto Update in the Property Manager. This box is at the bottom of the Property Manager. When unchecked, you can make several changes at once. Then, click the Apply button to make all of the changes.
