"Bedrock
Topography of the White Sea"
Created using both MapViewer
and Surfer
This map was contributed by Aleksey Amantov http://www.geologicalmap.nm.ru/

The shaded relief map of the sub-Pleistocene
surface exhibits the bedrock topography of the White Sea and surrounding area of
this relatively new diamond-bearing province. It illustrates the mapped surface
of the inset map in the lower right corner. Thickness of the Pleistocene
overburden is up to 200 m. Surfer is used to automate creation of convergence
maps of the platform margin, and final results are displayed in the MapViewer 4
to take advantage of the additional analytical features.
