"One of my recent fields of research is surface process modeling. I spent two months at Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, Germany, where with my consultants (David Karatson PhD and Balazs Szekely PhD) we investigated this volcanic area (among others). This surface map was created from my on-screen digitized data.  The base map was a 1:50,000 scale Japanese topographic map (7x7 km). In this case I used the default color spectrum of Surfer 8 because I really like it."
