Version 4.02 (December 18, 2001)
- The Thin Boundary command can now handle
any size polygon/polyline.
- The display of various reports has been
improved under Windows 2000.
- The Digitize command is now enabled in
an empty document.
- Golden Software Interchange (GSI) files
from Didger 3 are fully compatible with MapViewer 4.
- Graticule lines for the Lambert
Azimuthal Equal Area projection have been improved.
- The initial size of a map in page units
is now included on the status bar when you use the Map | Move/Size All
Layers command.
- Moved the “LogPerInch” setting from
the Registry to the Map.ini file.
- You can now specify different tables
from an Access Data (MDB) file when you create multiple maps in a
single plot window.
- Improved the ESRI Shapefile (SHP) export
filter to properly export IDs.
- Printing problems involving black lines
have been corrected.
- You now have the option to specify input
data units when you import a file with an unknown projection.
- The Object Managers update correctly
during the conversion from docked to floating window style under
Windows 95, 98, and ME.
- File | Preferences now contains the
option to specify Exact or Proportional symbol sizing.
- Import problems involving ESRI Shapefile
Primary and Secondary IDs have been resolved.
- Year 2000 US Census data and various
country boundary files have been added to the MapViewer 4.02 CD and
the Golden Software FTP site.
- Importing a MapViewer (gsm) file into an
existing Map Document no longer causes the coordinate space to change.
Version 4.01 (June 3, 2001)
- Converting to certain map projections no
longer results in text that is upside-down.
- When the map scale is changed, the font
size displays the points appropriate to the scaling of height.
- The State Plane 1927 display units have
been changed from meters to US feet.
- Color Classes of Prism Maps are now
affected by the Global Data option under the General tab in the Prism
Map dialog box.
- The selection of a GSM file for the
boundary in a thematic map no longer causes MapViewer to shut down.
- When Map Limits are set, copy and paste
includes the limited map area plus any objects partially outside of the
limits. The white space containing the data limit extents is no longer
present.
- Map graticule updates correctly when map
limits are changed numerous times or have been undone.
- Maps created in earlier versions of
MapViewer have their IDs positioned correctly.
- The Change File button in the Line Graph
dialog box functions properly.
- Spaces can be included in text strings.
- Various Bounding Box redraw problems have
been fixed.
- MapViewer Reports created using Windows
2000 have the correct heading format and style.
- The GSB file export includes all map areas
when exported as a version 3 GSB file.
- Renamed Zaire to Democratic Republic of
the Congo in all files containing Africa.
- HI.gsb contains all of the major Hawaiian
Islands, and a GSB file based on individual Hawaiian Islands has been
added.
- Added a GSB file containing the State
Plane 1983 Zones.
- Pin Map symbols and labels adjust properly
when the coordinates are changed in the associated data file.
- When a multiple sheet excel file is chosen
for a data file, the prompt to choose a sheet always appears.
