8?
After compiling a list of the new features in Grapher 8, we chose a small sample of these new features to display here. Of course, these are only a few of the many features available in Grapher 8!
New Graph Type!
|
Grapher 8 has added a new radar (spider) plot! This exciting new graph has a similar appearance to other radial graphs, except there are multiple radial axes and no angle axis. A radar graph is a graphical method of displaying multiple variables. Comparisons between multiple radar plots typically show trends in your data.
As with every detail in every graph with Grapher, you can change every portion of your plot to fit your own preferences for eye-catching graphics every time!
Create these informative graphs with striking colors to enhance their display! Add text, labels, and color to make your graph more meaningful! Make colors partially transparent to see all your data!

Transparency!
See all your data, even with plots overlap! Make lines, symbols, and fill colors transparent. You have full control over the level of transparency!
Enhance the appearance of your graphs by making using color gradients and transparency!
Add a graph magnifier to your graphs to enlarge important sections!
Magnifiers can be added to show graph items in an enlarged view. When using a graph magnifier, the magnifier has new axes that can be controlled independently from the whole graph! Move the magnifier to any location in your graph or anywhere on the page.
Change the axis properties inside the magnifier! Zoom in on any area in your graph!
Add a Drawing Zoom Inset to enlarge all objects!
Drawing insets work similar to graph magnifiers, except that all items on the page are magnified, including text, drawn objects, and images. In addition, graph types that cannot be used to create a graph magnifier can be enlarged with a drawing inset zoom. All properties of the inset zoom can be altered, to fit your needs.

Limit your Ternary Graph to any portion of the whole!
Limit your ternary diagram to any section of the plot that you desire! Is all your data in one area of the graph? Zoom in on the section using the dynamic ternary resizers to display only that area!

Link All Text to a Worksheet Cell!
| Often you have information in your worksheet that needs to be displayed on your graph. Now, there is a quick and easy way to add text to your graph directly from your worksheet cell. When the worksheet changes, so does the graph!
Now, all text blocks can be linked to a worksheet, including axis titles, graph titles, headers and footers!

Easy Legend Customizations!
Legends have been significantly updated in Grapher 8. You can add link any portion of the legend to a worksheet cell. You can show labels on the left or right. You can have multiple columns. You can set the distance between the title, the rows, and the columns separately. You can also display the fill color under the curve.
Display your legend however you desire!
Display multiple different shapes or any bitmap image for bar charts!
| Grapher 8 has added even more appeal to bar charts! Display your data as normal boxes or as spindles, cones, diamonds. Or, create your own image and use it. You can set the number of images to display, and whether a full image is shown.

Display a single line plot with different colors between points!
LSometimes, you need a different color line to emphasize data in a particular section of your graph. Grapher 8 has made creating this emphasized section easier than ever! Simply include the color definition in the worksheet. The graph can then use this worksheet column for both the line and symbol color.

Grapher 8 has added an easy way to show commas as decimal separators or periods as thousands separators.
Set the decimal comma and the thousands
delimiter in the Label Format dialog.

Digitizing from a ternary plot gives 3 normalized values.

Mouse wheel functions have been added. Click and drag the mouse wheel for Pan. Roll the mouse wheel in and out to zoom in and out. Press CTRL and the mouse wheel button to scroll the screen.
