ABOUT THE AUTHOR: I have an appetite for knowledge and a desire to share it! I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2008 with a B.S. in Mass Communication. However, I soon found that this path did not provide the stimulation I craved. I became more and more interested in the changing technologies around me, so I went back to school t...o study computer programming for a short time before making my way in the tech industry. I provide technical support for all six Golden Software products. I enjoy hearing how our customers use our software in their professional and personal lives. Working at Golden Software provides me the opportunity to learn new things every day while also satisfying my desire to help others. The best part of my day is answering users' questions and helping them solve their problems and display their data in an engaging and informative manner! When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, making my own health and beauty products, seeing live music, and getting outdoors! More

Happy Earth Day from Golden Software!

April 22 marks an event celebrated across the globe--it's Earth Day! Earth Day began in America in 1970 as a way to honor the Earth and promote peace, as a response to the Vietnam War and the 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. In 1990, the movement officially went worldwide when 141 countries joined in the celebration of the planet on which we live. Now, over 192 countries participate in the event! Global coordination is now handled by the Earth Day Network.

Here at Golden Software, we try to do our part to contribute to a healthy Earth. We have an office recycling bin that fills up frequently, many employees use public transportation or work from home to reduce carbon footprints, we encourage digital software downloads over physical packages shipped, and more! When we all do a little, we can do a lot!

A Graphical Representation of the 2014 West Africa Ebola Outbreak

In December of 2013, a 2-year-old boy died in Guinea. Researchers believe this boy was the first person to contract and spread the Ebola virus disease that eventually affected more than 25,000 people worldwide. There have been over 25,000 reported cases of the disease, and it is believed that the actual number of cases may be two to three times as what has been reported. The graph below, created in Grapher 11, shows the number of cases reported in each location, and which locations are still reporting new cases of the virus.

Introducing.Oiler!

Golden Software products can be used to model almost any type of data, from the movement of migratory fish to the results of delicate lab tests. Our products are used extensively in the oil and gas industry, whether Surfer is used to create contour maps to display data recovered from wells, Strater is used to show information down the borehole, or Voxler is used to visualize the well data in 3D! No longer is Golden Software restricted to data visualization software. Now, we have a product specifically for the oil and gas industry! Oiler!

Our programming team has been working around the clock, deprived of food and sleep, to bring you what you've been asking for! Oiler, a secret product in the works since Golden Software was founded in the 1980s, will revolutionize and streamline the petroleum industry. Our programmers and analysts have been working closely with geologists, researchers, and other nerds to produce an extensive database of petroleum information, called OILFIELD. Oiler uses this database along with complex photo analysis algorithms that would make Donald Knuth proud to analyze your aerial photos.
