Thanks to All Who Visited Golden Software at the AAPG ACE 2015

We at Golden Software want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth at this year’s AAPG ACE2015. It was an important opportunity for us to meet face-to-face and talk about our powerful and affordable mapping and visualization software.

Many non-users were surprised that we offer software with so many features at such a reasonable price. This is exactly the kind of reaction we expect and enjoy.

Why We Are Excited for the AAPG ACE 2015

Approximately 8,500 geologists, geophysicists and engineers from around the world will gather in Denver this coming Sunday for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Annual Convention and Exhibition. We will be exhibiting this year and wish we could talk to all of you. Sure, we want to show off our powerful and affordable data visualization software, but what we’re really excited about is what we will learn from you.

If you use our software, we want to learn how you use it and what features you like the most. We also want to know how we can improve our software to make your job easier, thereby allowing you to focus on more important tasks.  If you’re not a user, we’d like to know what software products you find beneficial and why.

The USGS website provides real-time data feeds, regional information, and various maps pertaining to earthquakes around the world. The website also provides a place to report earthquakes on the Did You Feel It? page.

MapViewer and Surfer are often used to create visually stunning maps to present layers of data in a meaningful way, Voxler can be used to present geographic and other data in true 3D, and Strater, Didger, and Grapher also have various applications in GIS. I thought author Louise Kidney brought up some good points that would be of interest to Golden Software users.

You probably already use a GIS more often than you realize!

All Hands Meeting 2015

This past weekend, the entire Golden Software team convened in beautiful Golden, Colorado for our annual all hands meeting (AHM). This was our 7th annual meeting, and like fine wine, it has improved with age; each year is better than the last!

Every year we meet all day Saturday and a half-day on Sunday. Our days consist of numerous presentations covering what we’ve accomplished over the past year, what our current endeavors entail, and where we’re headed in the coming years. We are always asking ourselves, “What’s best for the customer?” and the AHM gives us an opportunity to answer that question together. Our discussions are engaging as everyone contributes their thoughts and ideas. We can feel the energy increase as the meeting progresses.
